QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
If you stay in Poland under a visa-free regime, you can remain in the Schengen Area for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
To calculate your stay:
Count back 180 days from the current date. Within that period, your total stay in the Schengen Area must not exceed 90 days.
Please note that this limit applies to all Schengen countries combined, not only Poland.
If you exceed this limit, you may face penalties such as fines or entry bans. It is recommended to regularly check your entry and exit dates to monitor your stay.
If your residence permit is tied to a specific employer (usually the “temporary residence and work permit”), changing your job requires an official update.
You must submit an application to the Voivodeship Office to modify your permit.
You can start working for the new employer only after the new permit or updated decision is issued — unless your residence card is based on a type that allows free access to the labor market (for example, permanent residence, Blue Card, or long-term EU residence).
You can come to Poland for several reasons, such as:
– Work (employment, business, or seasonal job)
– Study or university admission
– Family reunification
– Short-term travel (visa-free or Schengen visa)
Each purpose requires different documents and procedures, so it’s important to apply for the correct visa or residence permit depending on your goal.
After submitting an application for a Temporary Residence Permit (TCR), you can legally stay in Poland while your case is being processed, provided the application was submitted correctly and on time.
In most cases, you will receive a stamp in your passport confirming your legal stay during the procedure.
However, the right to work during this period depends on your specific situation and the type of application submitted.
Yes, it is possible — but you must inform the Voivodeship Office.
If you change your employer during the residence legalization process, your application must be updated.
Depending on your situation, you may need to submit a new application or provide additional documents from your new employer, such as an employment contract, job description, or company details.
You cannot start working for a new employer until the office updates your documents or issues a new decision.
Importantly — even if your residence permit has already been granted, you are still required to inform the office about any change of employer.
Our offices are located in Warsaw (al. Jerozolimskie 56 C), Poznań, Wrocław, and Katowice.
We support clients across all of Poland, regardless of the location of the office handling their case. In cities where we do not have a physical office, we manage the entire process remotely, without requiring your visit.
A Residence Card (Karta Pobytu) is an official document confirming your legal stay in Poland.
In most cases, it refers to a Temporary Residence Permit (TCR), which allows you to live and work in Poland without a visa and travel within the Schengen area for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
The card includes your personal data, photo, and type of permit.
You should always carry it with you as proof of your legal residence status in Poland.
